I’m Scott and I’m the owner of, and sole-proprietor at, Websites ABQ. I’m a website designer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. What is the SEO in marketing?

SEO is an acronymn for Search Engine Optimization.  SEO is the business of getting your website ranked highly on Google for search terms related to your website.  It is a way to market your website.  One of several.  There is also social media marketing, and email marketing, marketing with a Blog, and Networking as well as Radio and TV and Billboard and  Newspaper ads.

What is SEO and how does it works?

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the work done in order to rank well on Google and Bing.  The way it works is, you or an SEO (Search Engine Optimizer) work on multiple things that will rank you higher on the search engines.  These things include On Page SEO and Off Page SEO.  Off page SEO involves creating Buzz for your website.  Usually Link Building is involved.  This means you get your website listed on other websites and that increases your Google credibility.  On Page SEO is a multifaceted proposition which I detail more here:  How to Rank higher on Google and Bing

Do SEO by yourself?

Can someone do SEO by themselves?  Yes you can.  Admittedly from doing it for clients, I’ve seen others do it.  It takes work.  A lot of work.  And doing your own SEO requires that you school yourself on how SEO is done.  You can find a lot of information on this website and the web.
